All the single ladies: Louisville No. 10 on Ashley Madison list of mistress metros
We don’t know how Ashley Madison came up with this list, and we don’t want to know.
BUT, this explains a lot …
Slugged “It’s 10 p.m. DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR HUSBAND IS?” a news release sure fluffs up infidelity and makes being a mistress sound like a choice that Gloria Steinem would celebrate.
If you don’t listen to Howard Stern or watch late night network television, you may not be aware that AshleyMadison.com is a massive enterprise. But it is.
Its latest television commercial boasts that the site is approaching 20 million members.
From the news release:
As the definition of marriage continues to evolve, millions of American women are deciding to pursue relationships with men who are already married, rather than seeking out lifelong commitments of their own. According to new research from extra-marital dating site AshleyMadison.com, over 26% of the women pursuing affairs with married men in Louisville are actually single themselves.
See below for the complete list cities where wearing a wedding ring will get you laid:
#1 – Los Angeles, CA – 37.2%
#2 – Washington , DC – 33.8%
#3 – Phoenix, AZ- 31.7%
#4 – Tampa, FL – 29.9%

“When divorce isn’t an option.” Huh.
Normally when I think of infidelity, I think of fraught, clandestine affairs and rooms by the hour at airport hotels. But that’s not the picture that Noel Biderman, founder and CEO of AshleyMadison.com, paints.
Not every woman is currently in pursuit of a white-picket fence lifestyle, relationship of permanence, children, mortgage and scheduled date nights,” says Biderman. “Many women are seeking adventure, and on a service like ours encountering older sophisticated men with the same “no strings attached” mentality that creates the perfect match.
Adventure? Sophistication? Woo hoo! Where do I sign up?
The tagline for the company is, “Life is short. Have an affair.” And lest that not be too subtle for you, the “o” in “Madison” in the company logo is sometimes a wedding ring… and sometimes a gold coin.
So, if someone is going to cheat despite the fact that he/she is in a committed relationship, why not turn the situation into a business? As the company eloquently states, “Providing a married dating service like ours does not make someone more likely to stray any more than increasing the availability of glassware contributes to alcoholism.”
We normally like to see Louisville on top ten lists, but we’re not exactly going to be shouting this one from the rooftops.
