_7396879Most likely, foodies already are salivating in anticipation of the third annual Taste of 502 on Monday, Feb. 16. And if you aren’t in the know, there are still general admission tickets available, so get on it.

Taste of 502 — a benefit for YMCA Safe Place Services — features samples of menu items from dozens of local restaurants, as well as tastes of beer, wine and bourbon. It’s being held at the downtown Hyatt Regency Hotel, 311 S. Fourth St., and runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door.

Also, the related event 502 Restaurant Week begins two days later on Wednesday, Feb. 18, and continues through March 4. Basically, you select a restaurant off the list and make a reservation for a special three-course menu available throughout the dates. The cost will either be $50.20 per couple or per person, depending on the restaurant.

“The Louisville area has so many incredible restaurants, and the city is getting noticed as a foodie destination,” says Belinda Gates, owner of 502 Events, the organizer of 502 Lunch Week, 502 Restaurant Week and the Taste of 502. “We’re happy to promote the local restaurant industry and prove that we are serious about our culinary scene.”
