Happy Birthday, LIBA!
Happy Birthday, LIBA!

The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) has been keeping Louisville weird for a decade now, and to celebrate this milestone, they’re throwing a Birthday Bash on Friday, Feb. 27, at Headliners.

LIBA was formed in 2005 by ear X-tacy’s John Timmons and a handful of other local business owners who believed local businesses should stick together and encourage the community to shop local.

Today, LIBA represents almost 700 independently owned businesses and is an affiliate member of the American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA).

image001The Birthday Bash will feature music by Hay DJ and Tony & the Tan Lines, games and prizes, the Magnolia Photo Booth, food trucks (V-Grits and Black Rock Grille), a “Pin the Mustache on the Mayor” event, and a “Weird Birthday Cake Contest” where you can sample and vote for your favorites from local bakers.

It all sounds like a good time, but let’s face it, they had us at cake.

Admission is $10, and tickets are available at Better Days Records, Headliners and online at keeplouisvilleweird.com.

The Birthday Bash runs from 7-11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27.
