It’s a long Fourth of July weekend, so for our insiders we have a long line-up of jazz courtesy of Larry Cooper at the Louisville Jazz Society:
The next two weeks are among the best of the year for Louisville jazz lovers.
In conjunction with Jamey Aebersold’s jazz camp at the University of Louisville, there are free concerts featuring literally dozens of jazz artists in town to teach at the camp at UofL’s Margaret Comstock Hall on Sundays through Thursdays. There will be smaller gigs, also no cover, featuring some of the same players joining Dick Sisto at the Old Seelbach bar every Friday and Saturday for the next three weeks. And it’s a good bet that some of the visitors will show up at various other gigs and jam sessions around town, so it should be an especially great week to catch some jazz in Louisville.
So go Fourth and enjoy it!
