New Quick Start experimental story gallery debuts today at Speed Art Museum

The Speed Art Museum debuts a new experimental gallery today.

Quick Start – ArtStory Gallery is designed as a fun “starter” gallery for a casual family visits, according to a news release.

The idea is to make a family visit to the museum into” a fun ride,” allowing families to discover the stories behind the art, talk about what they see and make up their own stories to unlock a work of art, according to the release.

The gallery now features works by James Tissot, Jacob Lawrence, Henry Moore, Ed Hamilton and others.

Quick Start gallery is located on the museum’s main level sculpture court.

The gallery will feature discussion and activity suggestions and includes family audio spots  with information accessible by cell phone, “and hands-on and minds-on activities for families to bring the artwork to life,” according to the release.

The new gallery is included with museum general admission.
