The Nashville Post has a post that Brown-Forman is moving its communications division to Louisville from Nashville.
The teaser for the post has this tantalizing drop head: “Company’s consumer relations to focus on digital marketing.”
The Nashville Post – a business weekly that’s part of SouthCom, the company that owns LEO here – has a paywall.
Just on principal, we’re not going to pay for this news nugget.
So, we don’t know if this is 1 job or 100.
Phil Lynch, Brown-Forman vice president and director of Corporate Communications, called us back, but said there is no comment from the company.
That the Louisville-based beverage giant is huge into digital marketing and social media is no secret.
BF execs signed contracts with the largest digital marketing firms in the world during 2011 including Arnold KLP and Arnold Amsterdam, part of Boston-based Arnold Worldwide,
And, it didn’t take five minutes to find a bunch of jobs posted on-line that sound like they could be part of this move.
Brown-Forman long has had the reputation of being one of the best employers in Louisville in terms of pay and corporate culture.

Job Description Scope: As part of the Digital Marketing Organization, responsible for the Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands’ consumer communication, participate in Consumer Community Management across a variety of consumer-facing platforms. Directly assists the Community Manager, JD, and provides brand support for the JDFOB. Responsible for executing and managing consumer communication efforts for JDFOB.
Responsible for responding to consumer messages (social, emails, direct mail, etc.) across the globe with a high level of customer service.
Work with local markets on responses to promotional/market specific inquiries from consumers.
Respond to all consumer phone calls for the JDSB Buy the Barrel inquiries – forward qualified applicants to the brand team.
Provide the Community Manager, JD, with insight into what common inquiries/requests consumers are asking
Bachelor’s Degree plus 1-2 years experience in digital/consumer communications, or equivalent education/experience combination
Demonstrated written communication skills; ability to formulate responses to detailed questions from consumers representing the brand(s).
Demonstrated experience in social and email communications
Strong consumer orientation
Demonstrated sound judgment and some decision making capability
Demonstrated ability to work independently; self-motivated
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel/external contacts.
