Sources say new One Southern Indiana CEO Jody Wassmer will depart this week

Just a few weeks after the exit of Joe Reagan from GLI, One Southern Indiana‘s CEO is on his way out, according to multiple sources.

Those insiders have confirmed Jody Wassmer’s last day at 1SI will be Friday.

Wassmer has only been CEO of Southern Indiana’s main chamber/economic development entity for three months.

The organization was scheduled to unveil an aggressive three-year strategic plan this week.

A call for comment to Wassmer ‘s office in New Albany was referred to Vaughn Scott, 1SI chairman. Scott did not respond to calls to his office at Wells Fargo in New Albany, where he is a wealth-management consultant.

Wassmer arrived in New Albany in November from Owensboro, Ky. where he’d been president of the chamber of commerce for six years.

He had replaced Michael Dalby, who’d been 1SI CEO since 2006, and who left to become CEO of the chamber in Columbus, Ohio.

But a few weeks after after Wassmer arrived, the News and Tribune newspaper in Jeffersonville had story about a suit filed against Wassner in Owensboro, which appeared to have been resolved in his favor last month.

One of his employees alleged that Wassmer used the Owensboro chamber’s credit cards to pay for a personal trip to Chicago in 2010, as well as for other personal expenses.

Wassmer’s departure means both of the metro area’s chamber/econ-dev entities are looking for new leadership.
