The Main Louisville Library at Fourth and York is hosting “Boom Time – My Creative Life” tonight at 6 p.m.

If you have a creative life on the side – or dream of one – don’t miss this program, which is part of a series aimed at providing inspiration and information for your next 30 years.
The conversation will include Susan McNeese Lynch, a marketing consultant and actress; Dr. Ron Lehocky, a pediatrician and clay artist; Marta Miranda, CEO of the Center for Women and Families and a poet; and Baptist Health Care executive Tom McGee and Don Riggs of the band, The Remedy.
Brad Dillon, a lawyer and bread baker extraordinaire, will serve as moderator – and have samples of his bread for the first folks to arrive.
In tandem with that, the library is offering a free class for people trying to develop their creative faculties.
The Creative Process is a 5-part short course led by Dr. Annette Allen, Professor of Humanities at the University of Louisville.
The series is designed to explore creativity – its nature, source, and development, according to a news release:
Participants will gain a greater understanding of the creative process – as explored by Dr. Allen, poet Amy Tudor, musical composer Elden Dale Golden, creative non-fiction writer Julie Marie Wade, and visual artist Sara J. Northerner. All instructors have received, or will receive their PhDs in Humanities from the University of Louisville.
The class meets from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays, February 29 through March 28, at the Main Library. Registration is free – with no prior educational requirements. Call 502-574-1635.
