Louisville Jazz Society highlights: U of L faculty concert Monday includes Harry Pickens, Mike Tracy and Ansyn Banks

(Editor’s note: This post is courtesy of Larry Cooper at the Louisville Jazz Society.)
I was just blown away by Craig Wagner and Jim Connerly’s gig at the University of Louisville last Tuesday.
This coming Monday there’s another free concert by some of the fine artists on UofL’s jazz faculty – a quintet led by Harry Pickens, Mike Tracy and Ansyn Banks.
And if you want to have some fun and help some of the students attending U of L’s fine jazz school, consider their Jumpin’ Jive Dance and Fundraiser at the Henry Clay on Sunday April 1.
Sponsored by the Friends of the School of Music. $100 for cocktails, dinner, cabaret show and dancing to the UofL Jumpin’ Jive Orchestr:a 5-10 p.m., or dancing only–$10 from 8-10 p.m. Ticket information 896-0330 or friendsjumpjive(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)aol.com
Lots of other great jazz around town over the next 10 days – check it out.
And help us support jazz by joining the LJS atwww.louisvillejazz.org/membership.php.
Regards,
Louisville Jazz Society
