William Benton’s tour journal: ‘Watching Acid Mothers Temple kill it for a too-small Dallas crowd’

TOUR JOURNAL: DALLAS

First time I’ve played here in a long while.

I am watching Acid Mothers Temple KILL it- to about 45 people. That’s too bad.

Their new album is called “Son of a Bitch’s Brew” and whatever sound that that title might conger to the mind is likely what I am enjoying now.

Our set was fine, but for only about 30 people.

There is some kind of art fair going on now with a band in every venue and many more playing on about every block outside. As much of a bummer as that might appear to be, I think it likely worked out okay, on this first night that sorta’ trains us on the routine of subsequent evenings.

Acid Mothers Temple

It was a gorgeous day. We parked in front of the venue and it didn’t take long before Acid Mothers Temple showed.

They are super, super nice, but we do have a slight language barrier. Mikel, our secondary drummer, lived in Japan for two years and speaks a fair amount of Japanese so we hope it to be a useful asset over the next few weeks.

I am happy to be here.
