Mozz co-owner opening Mozzaria May 2 in Red Star Tavern location
Mozzaria will open May 2 in the site that once housed Red Star Tavern in the heart of Fourth Street Live.
Matthew Antonovich, co-owner of Mozz (445 E. Market), plans to open a dressed-down version of that clever concept, name it Mozzaria and open it amid the Derby Week crunch on May 2.
The new restaurant will take over the space at 450 South Fourth St., formerly home to Red Star Tavern and situated in the heart of Fourth Street Live.
According to a news release, the 200-seat Mozzaria will be an ambitious culinary combination of gastro-pub, New York-style delicatessen, pizzeria, burger grill, pasta house and souvenir shop.
Prices will range from as little as $2 for small bites to $17 dinner entrees.
Earlier news about the project included the name of Michael Cooper, co-founder of Mozz, but the current press release did not.
We’re still attempting to contact Antonovich for further information and will update the story as we learn more.
