Friends of the Library book sale June 1 thru June 3; proceeds benefit Summer Reading program

The Friends of the Free Public Library’s annual big book sale is scheduled for June 1 through June 3.

This year, the sale will be at the South Louisville Community Center at 2911 Taylor Blvd. near Churchill Downs.

The Board of Directors of the Friends’ organization will donate all net proceeds of the sale to  the library system to help fund the Summer Reading program.

There will be thousands of books for adults and children priced from 50 cents to $2, according to a Friends of the Library news release.

Preview night for Friends members will be Friday, June 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

(Memberships will be made available at the door.)

Hours for the general public are Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 3 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
