Louisville Jazz Society is presenting Swing 39 – named after D’jango Reinhardt’s famous tune – tonight at The Rudyard Kipling. The Swing 39 trio is Ben Andrews, guitar, Jane Halliday, violin and John Thornberry on bass.
Here are the details from the LJS website:
This month’s affordable LJS concert features this fun and classy three piece group, which specializes in the music of D’jango Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli as well as classics by great American song writers such as Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin. The show is at the venerable Rudyard Kipling on Oak Street, and Ken Pyle has promised to open the windows between the two rooms to create room for dancers. He and Lee will also be serving drinks and food from their full menu. Our previous shows at the Rud have been very popular, so you might want to get their early.
The show is $5 and starts at 6:30 p.m.
