Some really great jazz musicians are in town over the next two weeks to teach at Jamey Aebersold’s Annual Summer Jazz Workshops at the University of Louisville.
And, along with their students, we’re the beneficiaries, as these folks are putting on free shows at U of L’s Comstock Hall from Sunday through Thursday both weeks.
That’s in addition to daily lunch shows and Sunday dinner shows at the campus Ville Grill.
You’d have to pay significant cover charges to hear these players at clubs in New York or Chicago, but we can hear them all for free over the next two weeks. In addition to the U of L shows, several of them are playing other venues around town, such at the Nach Bar next Wednesday night and the Seelbach on July 6 and July 13.
So catch some of these visitors, often playing with great local players, all around town over the next two weeks.
