Jefferson County Public Schools officials are scheduled to have up their new back-to-school website active by Friday.
JCPS is devoting a section of its website to a sub-site, apparently, that will include the all-important information about bus routes.
The site will have scheduling information via a link to a “Bus Finder” function, which will instantly display pickup times at bus stops closest to parents’ homes, according to a news release.
From the release:
Available through the homepage of the district’s Web site (www.jcpsky.net) beginning Friday, July 27, the Back-to-School page also offers links to many elementary and middle school supply lists, the Parent Portal, the free JCPS app, and the school calendar. There’s even a video that shows what it’s like for a kindergarten student to ride the bus on the first day of school and many more tools and tips to help parents get ready for the 2012-13 school year.
Lost on the average Louisvillian is how gigantic a system JCPS is – more than 101,000 students assigned to more than 150 schools in a county that stretches from Prospect on the east, southwest to Westpoint, outside Fort Knox.
Depending on how well JCPS web designers have done with their content-management platform, this could be helpful.
