Louisville Jazz Society: Tim Whalen and Friends at The Rudyard Kipling Sunday starts a great week of jazz

(Editor’s note: This post is courtesy of Larry Cooper, Louisville Jazz Society.)

Louisville Jazz Society resumes its monthly Sunday evening shows at The Rud with a fine tenor player and his quartet.

Louisville Jazz Society’s monthly series wraps up its first year of success with the Tim Whalen Quartet Sunday, August 12.

Tim Whalen on saxophone; Jason Tiemann on drums; Kris Eans on trumpet; and Steve Snider from Murray Ky on the Hammond B-3 organ; will be at the Rudyard Kipling, 422 W. Oak St. in Old Louisville.

The band has a modern sound and will be, in Patty Bailey’s words, “swinging their rear ends off!”

The concert begins at 6:30, with doors open at 5:30, and a cover of only $5.
