Cooking oil-to-biodiesel fuel pioneer Lyle Estill coming Sept. 13 and Sept. 14 for pitch to Metro Louisville Sustainability Committee

Cooking-oil-to-biodiesel pioneer Lyle Estill is coming to Louisville in September.

Considering Louisville’s massive restaurant infrastructure, it appears Estill is coming to the right place.

Estill is founder of Piedmont Biofuels in Pittsboro, N.C., which takes waste cooking oil and converts it to vehicle fuel.

The Louisville Biodiesel Cooperative is working to create a similar operation in our community.

Estill scheduled to present to the Louisville Metro Sustainability Committee on Thursday, September 13 and will be meeting with various groups that day as well as Friday, September 14.

Estill’s visit includes a number of receptions, according to an email from organizers.

 Here’s his sechedule for Thurs., Sept. 13 and Fri., Sept. 14:
