Ignite Louisville, part of Leadership Louisville, is taking applications from non-profits seeking management expertise they might not otherwise be able to afford – talent they can dedicate to specific projects.
The deadline is Fri., Sept. 14, for nonprofits “to potentially gain the talents of a team of highly-motivated emerging leaders,” according to Holly Prather, vice president, marketing for Leadership Louisville.
Ignite Louisville teams will work to develop and implement projects meant to have long-lasting impact on the nonprofit organizations, Prather wrote in an email.
To get an idea of the potential impact, last year’s Ignite Louisville teams invested more than 2,000 hours in their partner organizations, averaging about 400 hours per team, according to an Ignite Louisville news release.
In a recent survey, organizations stated that Ignite teams remarkably improved the productivity of operations, increased the organization’s outreach in the community and improved the strategic focus of the organization. The average value of each team’s work was $30,000 in the most recent class, and many Ignite Louisville graduates have joined the boards of directors of their adopted nonprofit, accelerating a generational change in leadership, according to the release.
For the third year, Louisville-based global restaurant chain Yum! Brands is working with Leadership Louisville Center for the Yum! IGNITES Louisville Challenge.
From the Ignite news release:
The Louisville Challenge is an annual opportunity for teams of young professionals from the Ignite Louisville program to undertake a project for a local nonprofit, gaining experience in community leadership, board involvement and teamwork. Participating nonprofits benefit from the expertise and energy of the teams, who each invest hundreds of hours with their nonprofit agency as they compete for a $1,500 donation provided by the Yum! Brands Foundation.
Nonprofits interested in working with a team of young professionals from the Ignite Louisville Class of 2013 are invited to submit proposals. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Friday.
