Kitchen ventilation failure shuts down La Coop for weekend
Is this what they call this a public service message?
Well, maybe in journalism, but in the restaurant business, this issue is a pain in the neck.
The owners of La Coop asked that we let folks know that its kitchen ventilation system motor has failed and that a part will not arrive until next week. That means it’s closed for the weekend.
While they extend their apologies to anyone hoping to tear into some French bistro chow, fact is we all should sympathize with them. Friday and Saturday sales often make up as much as 80 percent of a week’s sales in the restaurant biz. So this is a pretty big deal.
The only good news is the kitchen staff gets the weekend off–a rarity in that line of work.
Here’s to hoping next week’s scoop La Coop involves a running hood system.
