Harvest Restaurant hosting Schlafly Beer dinner Sept. 25

Harvest Restaurant (624 East Market St.) is hosting a Schlafly beer dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 6:30.

According to a news release, Tom Schlafly and Dan Kopman from Schlafly will be the evening’s guest speakers. The St. Louis brewery’s beers have gained good traction in the local area, so it’ll be interesting to see what they match with chef Coby Lee Ming’s four-course menu (vegetarian options are available):

First course: succotash soup, summer corn bisque, roasted tomato coulis, pickled green bean relish, jalapeno powder, tomato chips

Second course: maple-grand cru poached pears with crispy guanciale, spicy greens, house made manchego and pear-ginger gastrique

Third course: a choice of triple-braised crispy pork belly, Belgian style stoemp cake, mustard glaze and pickled peach salsa, or roasted and stuffed tomato with butternut-masa cake, grilled corn and spaghetti squash salad

Fourth course: barley wine-fig compote with pecan shortcake, barley wine caramel, whipped honey creme fraiche

Cost of the dinner is $60 plus tax and gratuity. To make reservations, call 502-384-9090 or through OpenTable.com at Harvest’s website.
