The store replaces Stan’s Fish Sandwich. Literally. The Stan’s building is gone, replaced by an attractive design that blends in with the Vogue building, an old movie theater.
(We do like both existing Zoë’s Kitchen interiors, though the downtown location in the PNC Plaza is especially cool.)
Zoës’ new Louisville location seats about 90 people in the dining room and will also include an outdoor patio which seats 40, according to a news release.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The new location also plans to offer beer and wine.
The new St. Matthews operation is the Birmingham, Ala.-based chain’s 68th location in 12 states, mostly in the South.
To celebrate its opening in Louisville, Zoës is giving away 500 meals to its Facebook fans, according to the release.
That includes one grand prize winner who’ll get Zoës for a year at the new store, according to the release.
The contest runs through September 30. The grand prize winner will be announced on Zoës Facebook page on Monday, October 1.
The new Zoës location offers guests a selection of signature dishes, which are sort of toned down Greek/Turkish items such as chicken kabobs, chicken roll-ups and hummus, with gluten-free options. Also, the pizzas we’ve tried there were exceptionally good, as were the salads.
The focus is healthy eating, with fresh ingredients prepared daily from original recipes, and unlike most restaurant kitchens, there are no fryers or microwaves at Zoës.
