Starring Josh Hopkins (“Cougartown”), Cameron Monaghan (“Shameless”), Guillermo Diaz (“Weeds”), Kevin Sussman (“Big Bang Theory”), as well as a bunch of local actors, “2nd Serve” is a slobs-verses-the-slobs slapstick comedy.
Here’s the synopsis:
After being fired from the affluent country club for bad behavior, a former tennis star takes a job at a public racquet club where he leads a ragtag group of oddball pros to a showdown against a rival team of his former co-workers.
There are limited tickets available to the public for the cast-and-crew screening on Tues, Oct. 16 – before the premiere – at the Brown Theatre, with a reception afterwards. Can’t make it on the 16th?
Mark your calendar for the national premier at Village 8 Theatres and a Q&A with the filmmakers.
There will be an after party at The Palace, free for all 21 year old and older with ticket stub from either night.
Update: Gill Holland’s new ’2nd Serve’ tennis comedy national premiere Fri. Oct. 19 at Village 8
When we talked with Louisville-based movie producer Gill Holland earlier this month, his new “2nd Serve” feature-length comedy was set for a run at the Baxter Avenue Theatres in Mid City Mall.
Then we got an email from Gill saying, essentially, “2nd Serve will open at the Village 8 Theatres off Dutchman’s Lane in DuPont.”
According to the movie’s Facebook page, the run starts Fri., Oct. 19. Showtimes are 1 pm, 3:15 pm, 5:20 pm, 7:25 pm and 9:30 pm.
