Hizzonor is kinda intruding on WFPK’s turf here, essentially stealing the public radio station’s Live Lunch format for his own new monthly concert series.
The Mayor’s Music Series will be held at noon on the first Thursday of the month in the Mayor’s Gallery on the fourth floor of Metro Hall, 527 W. Jefferson St.
The first concert, scheduled for Thursday will be singer/songwriter Cheyenne Mize from Gill Holland’s SonaBLAST! Records stable of recording artists.
Mize has always had a hard-to-categorize style with songs such as “WishingWell” and “Friend.” Now, she’s performing with rockers She Might Bite.
(We’re wondering if she’ll jam with Greg Fischer.)
The performances are free and open to the public.
Brown-bag lunches will be permitted, but “due to the historic nature of the Mayor’s Gallery”, no outside drinks will be allowed. That and all the gin and tonics people might sneak in.
Louisville Water will provide Louisville pure tap at the performances.
All shows will be taped and broadcast on the city’s MetroTV channel, which airs on Insight channel 25 and also online.

Cheyenne Mize was Cheyenne Marie Mize, but dropped the “Marie” as she redefines her image, according to our Micheal Tierney.
