Scary good! Bardstown Bound day-long BooFest set for Oct. 27

The ninth-annual Bardstown Bound BooFest returns this year on Oct. 27. Stretching from where Bardstown Road touches the Douglass Loop, northward to well past where it flows into Baxter Ave., restaurants, bars and retailers of all stripes will open their doors for fun, tricks, treats, shopping, sipping and supping.

The event begins that day at noon and runs until well past the time your parents said nothing good happens anyway (mine always said it was midnight).

Retailers will offer special sales on clothing, art, home furnishings, jewelry and more, while restaurants and bars will feature BBC beer specials and other bargains on food and drink.

According to a news release, BoomBozz Pizza & Taphouse will have a local beer tent and a local band, North End Café, Mark’s Feed Store, BIG Bar, Bristol Bar & Grille, The Bard’s Town Pub and Qdoba are planning special events as well. ValuMarket—one of the community’s most engaged companies and generous sponsors of such family-centered events—will be passing out candy.

Got a cool costume? Show it off and walk among what surely will be many other similarly clad ghouls, ghosts and zombies.

Put on by the Highland Commerce Guild and sponsored by Bon Vivant Savant, BVS Publishing,

Valu-Market and BBC Beer Co., this cool event will donate a portion of its proceeds to Gilda’s Club Louisville (located on Baxter if you’ve never seen it; neat place.)
