Beargrass Creek Alliance teams with Whole Foods Market for Oct. 20 Brews for Beargrass
The Beargrass Creek Alliance has teamed up with Whole Foods Market to present the Brews for Beargrass Beer Festival at Whole Foods Market, located at 4944 Shelbyville Rd., on Saturday, October 20 from 3 to 7 p.m.
According to a news release, admission is $30 in advance and $35 at the door taste the beers of more than 20 breweries. Local food trucks also will be on the scene to supply grub, and live music will be included.
To attend the event, you must be 21 years old. Designated drivers gain free admission.
A portion of the door proceeds will go to the Beargrass Creek Alliance, a grassroots, action-oriented group seeking to preserve Louisville’s greatest natural resource by mobilizing the local community to make changes that promote a cleaner creek that’s safe, and accessible to everyone.
On the same day, Beargrass Creek Alliance member Ward Wilson will be leading a Tour de Beargrass, a leisurely bike ride around the Middle Fork of Beargrass Creek. The ride will cover about 10 miles, with few hills. The trip will be highlighted by Wilson’s narration of Beargrass features and landmarks. This event is free, but advance registration is required. Go to www.BeargrassCreek.org to register.
The Neighborhood Creek Project, developed by the Beargrass Creek Alliance (BCA), promotes awareness about the benefits of capturing stormwater in our neighborhoods rather than letting it run off into the creek.
If you’re interested in learning more about the BCA meets monthly, its next monthly meeting is scheduled for Oct. 15 at the Crescent Hill Library.
