Foxhollow Farm Festival
The unseasonably cold past few days have hammered it home: fall is really here.
You can’t swing a (black) cat without hitting a pumpkin stand, pumpkin lattes are all the rage at the coffee shops, and local Targets and Walgreens are already putting Halloween decor on sale in favor of an encroaching sea of red and green.
So, it’s about time to celebrate trading your lawn mower for a rake with a good, old-fashioned, fun-for-all-ages Fall Festival.
The 5th Annual Foxhollow Farm Fall Festival has become a favorite for families throughout the area. As if this coming weekend wasn’t busy enough with the Flea off Market and Writer’s Block in NULU and the Belknap Festival at Douglass Loop, this event will also take place on Saturday, October 13, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
From the press release:
The 2012 Fall Festival includes a variety of entertainment and culinary delights for the whole family to enjoy. The fun-filled day includes live bluegrass music, a pick-your-own-pumpkin patch, hay castles, old-fashioned carnival games, a cakewalk, hay and horse rides, plus farm-fresh foods galore from Wiltshire Pantry, Rye, Grind Food Truck and Gilberto Gelato. Activities such as face painting, mural painting, silk dying and more will be available for purchase at the festival.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Maryhurst, the state’s oldest child welfare agency, and Foxhollow Farm’s Education Outreach. Admission is free. Parking is $5. Foxhollow Farm is located in Crestwood, KY at 8905 Highway 329.
