This is a bit of a pig in a poke.
But Captain McKnight and crew haven’t disappointed us yet.
The Forecastle Festival will start selling a limited number of specially priced weekend passes starting noon on Friday via ForecastleFest.com.
The $100 ticket includes all applicable fees and service charges, according to a news release. Which is about $40 off from last year.
The problem is, you won’t know what you bought until later this month or maybe even February.
The Forecastle Festival lineup won’t be announced till “early in 2013″ according to the release, along with ticket options, including the prices for VIP, travel packages and single day tickets.
The 3-day event is scheduled for Fri., July 12 through Sun., July 14 at Louisville’s Waterfront Park.
Last year, founder J.K. McKnight and Ashely Capps with A.C. Entertainment down in Nashville, didn’t reveal the lineup until January 24. But what a lineup! So, essentially, you’re buying a lottery ticket … will you end up with My Morning Jacket, Mumford and Sons or Of Monsters and Men?
Or will you get the Jonas Brothers?
We’re betting on the former.
