iHeartMedia Louisville is giving back to non-profits in Kentuckiana. The media company is initiating a formal Request for Proposal with invitations extended to prospective organizations to help identify cause marketing partners through August 16, 2019. IHeartMedia Louisville is providing in-kind media for select non-profits that fall under the theme of Kids: Heart of Kentuckiana. Media recipients will create a 3-month campaign based on their specific needs, ranging from seeking volunteers and raising visibility to increasing donations.
“We are constantly seeking ways to better serve the community at large,” says Earl Jones, President of the iHeartMedia Kentucky-Indiana region. “The initiative builds upon the already diverse efforts of iHeartMedia Louisville and adds an additional layer of media resources for nonprofits to fuel greater community impact. “
Jones says along with the in-kind campaign opportunity, iHeartMedia Louisville is making a stronger effort to provide more digital opportunities for the city’s non-profits through each radio station’s websites and social media pages.
Last year, iHeartMedia Louisville awarded in-kind media campaigns to three premier community partners: Family Community Clinic, 2NOT1 and New Roots Fresh Market. “It was an amazing opportunity for us, and we are still reaping the benefits,” says Katie Cameron, Program Coordinator of the Family Community Clinic. “This grant opportunity allowed us to widely share our mission and increase our organization’s profile among patients, volunteers, and donors.” Following its campaign with iHeartMedia Louisville, the non-profit with the mission to provide free, high quality healthcare services saw a 15 percent increase in its new patients. Family Community Clinic also reported a 400 percent increase in donations along with a 270 percent increase in volunteer applications.
iHeartMedia Louisville is quadrupling its efforts this year by providing media support to twelve local nonprofit organizations. “The selected organizations will be the recipient of an in-kind promotional campaign which includes Public Service Announcement, Streaming and Digital Placement,” says Jelisa Chatman, Communications Manager at iHeartMedia Louisville. Recipients will receive media support from 97.5 WAMZ, 98.9 Radio Now, NewsRadio 840 WHAS, 95.7 QMF, 790 KRD, Real 93.1, 100.5 KISSFM and TalkRadio1080 WKJK.
Potential community partners must be financially responsible, have a strong relationship with the community and assist the families and children of Kentuckiana. Each non-profit organization will be responsible for providing creative brief and available assets as well as developing a full marketing and communications plan. “We ask that organizations be as specific as possible when submitting the Request for Proposal,” Chatman says. “Once we (iHeartMedia Louisville) receive an idea of an organization’s goals, the iHeartMedia production team, personalities and digital staff will bring the campaign to life.” The company’s Local Advisory Board, comprised of over 25 leaders in the local community, government and education system, will select the recipients and determine which radio stations and websites are best suited for each campaign. The recipients will be selected at the end of August.
