Insider Louisville is proud to highlight our community’s arts and culture scene, both through our online coverage and at live events. To learn about some of the exciting projects taking place in Louisville this year, we partnered with ELEVATOR Artist Resource to host an artists showcase at the newly-opened Farm to Fork Cafe in the Portland neighborhood.

  • Anne Boock Miller, a circus and aerial artist, spoke about an upcoming video project in which she has documented a year of “authentic movement” in relation to grief.
  • Todd Smith shared information about Bike Sense Louisville, a project that will combine bike sensors, data from cyclists, and sound to create a public audio piece that will play at the Big Four Bridge.
  • Standup comedian Mandee McKelvey talked about her journey to Louisville from South Carolina, and how she came to her comedy career.
  • Filmmaker Naveen Chabual spoke about his ongoing project focused on an immigrant family in South Louisville.

As we learned from this event, there are so many stories in Louisville that deserve to be told. Our arts and culture coverage depends on support from the community. Help us do more by becoming a sustaining member today.
