The civically engaged can transform a community.

That was the overwhelming sentiment at Wednesday night’s Insider Louisville event. Attending were sustaining members of Insider Louisville and civic standouts featured in our report, “Insider Louisville’s Top 100: Change-makers and groundbreakers.”

Tom Cottingham, Insider Louisville’s CEO, welcomed everyone to the event by addressing how important local media is in helping raise civic awareness. He also touched on the financial dangers for a city not having local media.

Mayor Greg Fischer spoke about the important role the people in the room have in growing our city and making it an outstanding place to live. Neeli Bendapudi, president of the University of Louisville, spoke of her plans for the school and how much she loves Louisville and wants to help it grow.

We urge everyone to support Insider Louisville’s mission of increasing civic engagement by becoming a member or corporate supporter.
