Bristol Bar and Grille’s lease at the Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel in Jeffersonville, Ind., expires this month and the small Louisville restaurant chain has opted not to renew it. Its final day of operation there is Sunday, March 18.
“After 10 years, our lease at Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel has expired, and we are not renewing. We would like to thank our guests for their patronage over the last decade and we look forward to seeing them at our downtown, Highlands and East restaurants,” a spokeswoman for the company wrote in an emailed statement.
The company did not respond to a question about whether it was looking at open a Bristol store in a different Southern Indiana location.
Bristol Bar and Grille still has three locations, one on Bardstown Road, another on Main Street downtown and a third near the intersection of Hurstbourne Parkway and Shelbyville Road.
Grisanti Group Commercial Real Estate is now working with the hotel’s owner Sotherly Hotels to find a new restaurant tenant to fill the 6,000-square-foot space with a more than 1,000-square-foot outdoor terrace.
“This is a unique opportunity for a restaurateur to establish a marquee location in the crowded and competitive Greater Louisville dining scene. We’re interested in talking to anyone from national chains to local homegrown concepts,” Paul Grisanti, owner/broker of Grisanti Group and longtime restaurateur, said in a news release. “The space has a great layout with an unparalleled view of Louisville’s skyline. And Southern Indiana’s restaurant market has never been hotter.”
The Sheraton hotel won’t be without some sort of food offering for long. In the interim, the hotel company will open new concept called Bridge and Barrel to ensure a full-service restaurant is operating nearly continuously there. However, the end goal is for the company to lease the space to a third-party restaurant operator.
The hotel is also seeking a new tenant for a roughly 3,400-square-foot space, formerly occupied by Bearno’s Pizza. Bearno’s relocated to 5570 Highway 62 in Jeffersonville in late 2017.
