Robert Chatterton Dickson

We told you earlier this week about the British Consulate-General coming to Louisville from Chicago Mon., March 11 through Fri., March 15.

The British Consulate-General will take over an office space in the National City Tower complex at Fourth and Main streets and open the doors to Louisville’s leaders in business, education, law enforcement and non-profits.

Now, we can tell you how to get tickets to the official luncheon with Robert Chatterton Dickson at Vincenzo’s, Fifth and Market streets. And we wouldn’t dilly-dally.

The World Affairs Council is presenting a luncheon with Dickson scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Tues., March 12.

Tickets are $40 for WAC members, $50 for non-members, and you can order them online here.

The luncheon (if you’re a Downtown Abbey fan, you know it’s “luncheon,” not “lunch”) is followed by a free British Pop-Up workshop, “Doing Business in Britain.”

The workshop is scheduled for  2 p.m., National City Tower, 101 S Fifth St., which is the tower just across Fifth Street from Vincenzo’s.

You must RSVP for the workshop to: [email protected]

(The Queen is not scheduled to attend. At least not that queen.)

Among the scheduled events for the consulate-general in Louisville are:

  • a bourbon vs. Scotch tasting with Greater Louisville International Professionals and Young Professionals Association of Louisville.
  • a performance by The Band of the Scots Guards And The Pipes, Drums, Highland Dancers of The Black Watch 3rd Battalion at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.
  • an open house for high school students interested in studying in the United Kingdom.
  • a showcase of  the best of British design and manufacturing with vehicles on display from MINI of Louisville, Commonwealth Motorcycles and Gibbs Sports Amphibians.
It promises to be a busy week that week here in the Colonies!
