It’s only Tuesday and it already seems like it could be a busy week for restaurant and retail news.

On Monday, we reported that Dunkin’ Donuts had closed its Mid City Mall location. Still no word from corporate about why the location shut its doors. This morning, an executive with Pizza Hut, a subsidiary of Louisville-based Yum! Brands, confirmed to CNBC that the company is testing a beer delivery service in Phoenix as the chain looks to boost its less than satisfying sales numbers.

While those are national brands, Louisville isn’t short of local restaurant and retail news, either. Here’s a look at a couple of openings and a change at a Louisville restaurant happening this week:

Yoga studio open in Butchertown

A yoga studio called HOME Yoga & Wellness has moved into 1403 Story Ave.

The studio is hosting classes at noon on Wednesday and Friday; at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday; and at 6 p.m. Sunday. The noon classes are 35 minutes, and the other classes are an hour-long. This week, people can simply drop in for a class.

The classes are designed to accommodate beginners and those more experienced in yoga.

“There are many different ways to practice yoga, and I am thrilled to make yoga accessible to everyone by opening this studio. I am passionate about the benefits that yoga can have for people suffering for PTSD, anxiety, and depression,” founder Bekah Stewart said in a news release. “We want to open yoga to a larger audience and reach people who may have been intimidated to try yoga or may have misunderstood it.”

Check the business’s website or visit the studio as the class times may change.

Italian restaurant expands its hours

Lupo, Italian eatery and pizzeria in Butchertown, added lunch service for the first time today, Tuesday.

The restaurant opened in August with dinner hours only (5 p.m. to 11 p.m.) but recently announced that it would open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

While there will be overlap between lunch and dinner offerings, Lupo will offer some lunch-only items such as a Panzanella salad with arugula, frisée, Burrata cheese and Pugliese croutons from Blue Dog Bakery and Cafe. The restaurant’s menu mainly features pizzas, but it also offers homemade pastas and salads.

Impellizeri’s new location opening today

At 5 p.m. today, Dec. 5, the newest Impellizzeri’s Pizza location will open for dinner.

The store, located at 805 Blankenbaker Parkway, is a former Mellow Mushroom store, Insider previously reported.

“We are very excited to be back in Middletown and have spent the last few months adapting the space to feel like home and training our staff to serve pizza worthy of the Impellizzeri’s name,” Rhodes Bratcher, a partner in the store, said in an email.

The restaurant’s initial operating hours will be 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays but eventually will add lunch service.

As previously reported, the location is expected to seat 285 and employ 50.
