The Louisville Downtown Development Partnership will honor 20 “significant downtown developments” this evening at the 2015 Cornerstone Awards at the Mercury Ballroom. These awards represent more than $50 million in development that occurred downtown in 2013 and 2014.
The Bricks and Mortar Award and The S. Russell Smith Jr. Award of Excellence also will be presented.
“We are honoring 20 significant development projects that range from housing, arts venues, university buildings, hotels, retail and even a major stabilization undertaking that sets the stage for further substantial development here in Downtown,” Rebecca Matheny, LDP’s executive director, said in a press release.
Downtown Louisville is experiencing a revival that Matheny calls a “new period of tremendous growth and opportunity.”
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13, at the Mercury Ballroom. Tickets are $35 and available online.
