Derby may be over, but that doesn’t mean that Louisville is slowing down.

No one wants to plan events ON the week of Derby, but the two weeks AFTER Derby are open season. If you’re not double- or triple-booked some nights and weekend days these next few weeks, you’re definitely turning down invites.

Here’s another invite. But if you’re a young professional in Louisville, we don’t suggest that you turn down a chance to attend Ignite the Night on Wednesday, May 15 at the Pointe in Butchertown.

It’s the 8th annual event celebrating the emerging leaders who have worked for the past seven months with the Ignite Louisville program. We last wrote about Ignite Louisville when we shared information about their work with Marsha Weinstein and the Happy Birthday Park.

The event is free, but you must register for the event by May 10 at this link. It’s from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

There will be complementary Brown-Forman cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and it’s definitely a great networking opportunity and a chance to rub elbows with some of the current and emerging power brokers in Louisville.

The event is sponsored by Brown-Forman and the University of Louisville College of Business, and and also by our friends at New2Lou, who will be back fresh from their trip to the West Coast to launch New2Sea!
