The Forecastle Festival has put Louisville on the map for music lovers. The event started out as a small community event in Tyler Park and has grown into a multi-day festival that draws more than 60,000 attendees from 2,192 cities and 49 states to Louisville’s Waterfront Park.
In addition to attracting tourists from all over, the festival now attracts A-list musical acts like Wilco, OutKast, Jack White, Beck, the Replacements and more. It also attracts money to the city: In 2013, the festival’s economic impact on Louisville was estimated at $14 million.
McKnight is a Louisville native; he’s a graduate of St. Xavier High School and attended the College of Charleston, Bellarmine University and the University of Louisville.
