Maybe it’s Vincenzo’s genius bartender Joe Riggs’ crazy cocktails. Maybe it’s just closing out a hectic Monday with friends.

But after every Insiders Meetup, we always say, “That was the best one yet.”

1014449_10152320868074762_1251683147_nLast week, we had a Pip Pullen sighting as a number of advertising execs showed up. As an extra special bonus appearance, businessman Tyler Allen weighed in on the bridges projects, about which he is Louisville’s undisputed subject matter expert.

We had developers, bankers, entrepreneurs, real estate execs, restaurateurs and even elusive IL CEO Tom Cottingham.

This coming Monday will be huge ….

Matthew Gilles, Jonathon Bevan and Gregg Rochman, the three founders and active operators of Shine Contracting and Shine Properties, will talk about their big investments in Portland.

SilverDollar_027Gilles, Bevan and Rochman are business partners with Gill Holland in multiple real estate investments throughout Louisville. Shine may be most famous for The Silver Dollar Saloon, the upscale honky-tonk they fashioned out of 19th Century firehouse in Clifton.

The Shine Guys, as they are collectively known, will talk about their big foray into Portland, along with Gill Holland and other investors.

After five Insiders Meetups, we’ve learned two things … insiders like a good free-form, no-pressure get-together, and master bartender Riggs is a magician with bourbon, Campari and Dubonet.

Throw in a few minutes of insiders discussing the hottest topics, and we think we have a winning event.

We are lining up a group of speakers for later this month into November including:

• Insider Louisville sports columnist Mark Coomes on sports, the media and what Pat Forde is really like.

• Developer, entrepreneur and real estate broker Gant Hill, who’ll talk about a new retail project that’s top-secret until party time.

• Investor/attorney Chip Hamm, who will talk about his work with Stephen and Michael Ton and Brett Davis in Doc Crow’s Southern Smoke House & Raw Bar and La Coop, as well as with Tim Koons-McGee and Roy Koons-McGee in The Comfy Cow ice cream parlors.

• Metro Mayor Greg Fischer, who is tentatively scheduled to talk about his proposed Local Investments for Transformation plan.

We’ll keep you posted on who’s coming when.

So, now you know our secret agenda: Grab a drink, meet other Insiders and have fun.

Monday Meetups are from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Vincenzo’s is offering free valet parking (beginning at 5 p.m.) and drink and bar menu specials.

Vincenzo’s Director of Catering and Special Events Jonathan Tarullo loaded us down with three different hors d’oeuvres last week. We can’t promise that each time.

The event is open to the first 50 Insiders who register at Eventbrite here.

Vincenzo’s is located at 150 S. Fifth Street.

Dress is business casual.
