At IL, we keep our Insiders Meetups topical by inviting Louisville’s transformers to tell us about their latest projects each Monday at Vincenzo’s.

Bill Weyland came by our September 26 event hot off his announcement of a new Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Fourth and Chestnut, as well as a new music venue next door to be operated by LA-based Live Nation.

Shine Contracting partners Matt Gilles, Gregg Rochman and Jonathan Bevan brought their own photographer Paul Bevan (Jonathan’s brother) from London for their detailed look at what’s going on in Portland and NuLu on October 10.

Monday, we’ll have Poe Companies Director of Marketing Nicki Sibley to give us insider’s details about Steve Poe’s RiverPark Place development just east of Riverfront Park.

Since the first RiverPark Place units rented out in record time, Poe has started construction on 162 more apartments. He also announced a 9,000-square-foot restaurant by the same group who created Doc Crow’s, as well as an 11-story apartment tower.

The restaurant will be built around a relocated antebellum house, the Paget House, currently sitting vacant on River Road near the RiverPark Place.

The owners of the to-be-named restaurant are Michael Ton, Steven Ton, Brett Davis and Chip Hamm, who separately and together have developed Basa Restaurant in Clifton, Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar on Main Street, and La Coop bistro in NuLu. Chef Bobby Benjamin, late of the Oak Room at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel, also is part of the ownership group.

IMG_1626Poe told IL he will invest as much as $1.5 billion at RiverPark Place, and Sibley is in the middle of it as sales and marketing director.

Also, there will be plenty of mixing and mingling, networking and relaxing, with the entire Insiders Meetup experience enhanced by cocktails from mix-master Joe Riggs.

So, now you know our secret agenda: Grab a drink, meet other Insiders and have fun.

Monday Insiders Meetups are from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Vincenzo’s offers free valet parking (beginning at 5 p.m.) and drink and bar menu specials.

Vincenzo’s provided us with hors d’oeuvres last week. We can’t promise that each time.

The event is open to the first 50 Insiders who register at Eventbrite here.

Vincenzo’s is located at 150 S. Fifth Street.

Dress is business casual.

  1. I’m looking forward to hopefully being able to attend this event. The guests they have had at the last few have sounded to really have been interesting, and have had a lot of insight into what will be affecting our great city over the next few years!

    See you all Monday!
