Louisville’s Switcher Studio already has had a pretty big 2016.
Switcher Studio CEO Nick Mattingly won the 2016 Venture Sharks competition and earned a record prize package valued at $23,000 in cash and services to put toward the startup, which develops live video-streaming tools that allow users to film from multiple devices while a producer switches between angles in real time to create TV-style productions for the web.
In June, Switcher Studio upgraded to version 2.7 and announced it was one of 15 companies selected as an official Facebook Live partner. The upgrade to the software allows users to sync the Switcher Studio app with their Facebook account for single-tap streaming to their Facebook News Stream, Pages, Groups and Facebook Events. This announcement was made at VidCon 2016 in Anaheim, Calif.
Last week, Mattingly traveled to New York City to assist with the latest product launch of former “America’s Top Model” co-host Jay Manuel, a noted make-up artist. Switcher Studio helped broadcast news of the new product line, called Jay Manuel Beauty, on Facebook Live. You can watch the video here.
In other news, Mattingly expects to close on a $500,000 seed round soon. When that happens, Mattingly and two other founders will be working for the company full time; in addition, they are interviewing for a marketing manager and support/community engagement personnel.
Going forward, the key is to continue to increase Switcher Studio’s visibility by launching a media relations and marketing campaign.
Switcher Studio was founded in 2014.
