It’s time again for GLI EnterpriseCorp’s Signature Event, the yearly networking soiree that brings together the entrepreneurial and fast-growth community to hear from a keynote speaker and to hear, essentially, a “State of the Ecosystem” address from EnterpriseCorp head Terry Gill. The event will be held on Monday, July 13, at the Mercury Ballroom.
Every year GLI brings in a national thought-leader in the innovation or tech industry. This year the keynote speaker is Ross Baird, executive director of Village Capital. Baird founded Village Capital in 2009 and is a power player in the social entrepreneurship sector. Baird may be a national leader, but he and Village Capital are already part of our startup community. As we reported at the beginning of the month, Village Capital is returning its impact agriculture accelerator to Louisville this fall for the third year in a row.
In the past five years, Village Capital has supported over 450 entrepreneurs, including Lula Luu, founder of Kentucky’s own Fish Innovation Enterprises. Luu will serve on a panel with Baird and with Bryce Butler, managing director of Access Venture.
“To have such great leaders from the entrepreneurial community in one room allows for great dialogue and entrepreneurial development,” said Gill in a news release. “The Signature Event showcases our vision and our role in fostering innovation and the entrepreneurial community for the coming year.”
2015 EnterpriseCorp Award is also awarded at the event; it honors a leader in the entrepreneurial community.
Networking starts at 5 p.m., along with food and drinks; the program starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25.
