ihub-600x450Without fail, when you talk to people involved with companies who have come to Louisville to participate in one of our many business accelerator programs, they praise the accessibility of Big Brains and Major Players here in Louisville.

Just last week we talked to Gray Robinson, program manager of the Village Capital VentureWell accelerator, and she said that several of the entrepreneurs working with the accelerator have noted that when someone in Louisville says “If there’s anything I can do to help you…,” they actually mean it.

Chrysalis Ventures has been offering Open Office Hours weekly to startups and entrepreneur the better part of a year now. Members of Chrysalis have blocked off a couple of hours every Friday afternoon for free 15-minute consultations for startups and entrepreneurs.

The first few months, the Office Hours were held at Chrysalis HQ, but since then they have moved them to the iHub. Chrysalis is a large venture capital firm based in Louisville and encourages startups and entrepreneurs to come and speak to them about investing, pitching to investors and other investment-related issues.

Two more groups have recently joined iHub’s open office hours.

Deming Malone Livesay & Ostroff, one of Louisville’s largest certified public accounting firms, will be holding open office hours at iHub from 10 a.m. until noon on the first Tuesday and third Wednesday of each month beginning in September.

From DMLO’s news release:

Nucleus and iHub tenants, as well as entrepreneurs participating in Nucleus programs, can sign up here for a complimentary thirty minute session to discuss topics such as entity structure, licenses and permits, employer requirements, business plan development, financial projections, obtaining funding, establishing an advisory group, accounting software, systems implementation and internal controls, tax planning & compliance, risk management, or just about any other business topic an early stage entrepreneur might have questions about.

Also offering office hours is Fort Law Group.

According to the Fort Law Group website:

We strive to be an extremely well-balanced firm, by providing a broad range of services. Our attorneys are always available to assist you with any of your legal matters; including business/entity formation, domestic relations, mediation, litigation, financial services, intellectual property and technology, and transactional work, such as corporate, capital markets and real state finance representations.

People pay hundreds, even thousands of dollars to bend these people’s ears about business, financial and legal advice. Rumor is that more organizations will be offering office hours soon. The more we take advantage of these services, the more services will be offered.

Thanks to these three businesses for supporting the startup and entrepreneur community in Louisville! All office hours are by appointment. Please sign up online.
