junior achLast week we told you about the GLI EnterpriseCorp/Junior Achievement Company Program Pitch Competition and Showcase. The 13-week program challenges high school students to use the Lean Startup method to create their own functioning startup. Today GLI announced the finalists for the April 20 event.

The teams are:

  • Koala-ity Teeth from Atherton High School
  • Byte the Buzz from Jeffersontown High School
  • ShoeLife from Jeffersontown High School
  • Zip Clips from Louisville Collegiate School
  • Eagle Tech from The Academy at Shawnee High School
  • Wild Cases from Waggener High School

“This program is a great opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and want to take their startups to the next level,” said Lisa Bajorinas, director Kentucky Innovation Network at GLI EnterpriseCorp. “And it provides young entrepreneurs with exposure to the regional startup and business communities.”

The pitch competition and showcase is at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. The doors open at 6 p.m., and the competition, featuring a keynote speech by Forecastle Festival founder J.K. McKnight, begins at 7.
