If you are an entrepreneur who is looking to maneuver your business into a good place to sell, you’ll want to check out the Oct. 5 Venture Connectors Luncheon. Chuck Patton, co-founder of Traffic Builders Inc., will keynote the luncheon and explain how he prepared his Louisville communications firm for acquisition by the Houston-based direct marketing company GS Marketing Inc. in August 2015
Patton founded Traffic Builders with his wife, Tricia, as a direct mail company in 1998. As technologies grew, the company added email and mobile into one integrated platform. Traffic Builder was a niche marketing company for the automotive industry, specializing in the service departments of new car dealerships.
When GS Marketing acquired Traffic Builders, it had sales of just under $6 million and 30 employees. Patton is now the director of marketing at GS Marketing’s Louisville office and continues to help the company expand by creating marketing solutions for the automotive industry and building its customer base within the automotive and recreational vehicle industries.
During the acquisition process Shelley Washburn, GS Marketing president, said in a news release: “Their nearly two decades of proven expertise and integrated products across all delivery platforms will help GSM to become an even stronger brand leader in automotive marketing. Plus, we love their zest for customer satisfaction and creating a fun, engaging work environment — values we hold close to our hearts and incorporate as a part of our business strategy.”
Venture Connectors meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at the Muhammad Ali Center, 144 N.
