We meant to post this earlier because this could be a revelatory event.

Though the Association for Corporate Growth reveals absolutely nothing about speaker topics. All the better to build audience, we suppose.

Valle Jones, who developed Whiskey Row Lofts with Bill Weyland and others, is scheduled to speak tomorrow at ACG’s November breakfast event.

Jones et al have invested about $20 million in two buildings, for a total of about 120,000 of apartments and condos at 127 W. Main and 131 W. Main, just east of KFC Yum! Center.

It’s a pivotal project on a block that includes Whiskey Row properties (111, 113, 115, 117 and 119 West Main Street) under development by a group of investors including Brown-Forman heirs.

Pivotal because the taxing district that’s suppose to pay for the $348 million downtown arena is projected to come up woefully short until there are more businesses in the TIF district, generating more revenue.

Will Jones talk about all this? Who knows.

But it’s definitely worth being there to hear about one of downtown Louisville’s most important projects.
