The man accused of fatally shooting two people at a Jeffersontown Kroger last week appeared in court Friday morning.
Gregory Allen Bush maintained his not-guilty plea after a grand jury indicted him with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder as well as wanton endangerment.
Inside Friday’s courtroom, a large presence of deputies and family members of Stallard and Jones were in attendance.
Police and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office have identified the shooting as a hate crime, but it will not be tried as one because, under Kentucky’s current statute, homicide is not covered under hate crimes.
The judge kept Bush’s bond at $5 million.
