Louisville’s Young Nonprofit Professionals Network is holding a pitch contest on Monday, Sept. 28.
Before you say, “What? Another pitch contest in Louisville?” don’t worry, this is a pitch competition of a different sort. Instead of startups making pitches, nonprofit professionals and supporters get 90 seconds in the spotlight to tell us why their organization is so great and deserves support.
Each pitcher donates $5 to get their 90 seconds, and then the winning pitch gets the all the cash for their nonprofit. Pitches will be judged by the YNPN leadership. They admit they’ll judge “with a heavy tilt toward crowd-pleasers, so bring your friends!”
This is also a great opportunity to learn about local nonprofits you might like to support via donations or volunteering.
Sign-ups start at 6:30p.m. on Monday, and the competition kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Louis’s the Ton at 1601 Story Ave. The event is part of The Community Foundation of Louisville’s #GiveLocalLou campaign.
