Hadley_Cover_CRASince its serendipitous beginning in 1940, Mary Alice Hadley’s unique vision and style has been widely imitated. But her original spirit and creative energy is still alive in the historic Hadley Pottery Factory on Story Avenue in Louisville. Artists trained by protégés of Mary Alice Hadley still continue the tradition of creating hand painted pottery that evokes wit, whimsy and warmth.

This holiday season, join the thousands of Hadley fans who have toured the Pottery and shopped in our factory showroom. Open stock is maintained in dozens of original patterns and is applied to a wide selection of items such as plates, pitchers, bowls, mugs and tea pots. All of the stoneware designs in use today were created or suggested by Mary Alice Hadley. Each piece bears the hand-painted mark “M.A. Hadley.”

For the holidays, we offer a wide range of Thanksgiving and Christmas stoneware for tabletop and home decor. Don’t miss our annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 5, where you’ll enjoy home-made treats, discounts, and free gifts.

Our hand-crafted pottery is highly durable stoneware, fired at 2,100 degrees Fahrenheit to create a long-lasting and chip resistant finish. Hadley pottery is microwave, dishwasher and oven safe and is also lead free.

Store hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
