When the call comes to help out fellow Louisvillians and all you have to do is eat at a restaurant, it’s a no-brainer.

Each year, “Dine Around for Apron Inc.” raises thousands of dollars for those working hard in the service industry, and this year the date is fast approaching on Wednesday, Feb. 27. More than 35 area restaurants have stepped up to the plate, and all it requires you do to is eat a meal at one of the spots listed below, and a portion of their day’s proceeds will go to Apron.

Apron Inc. was started in 2011 by people with ties to the local restaurant company. The nonprofit provides temporary, limited financial relief to food and beverage industry workers in town who work at locally owned establishments and who are experiencing financial distress due to illness, injury or other issues.

Since 2011, Apron has provided grants totaling more than $160,000 for 157 people from 76 local restaurants.

“We are so lucky here in Louisville — we are quickly becoming a major food destination through the hard work and passion of the workers in our independent restaurant community,” says Apron President Gary Fox in a news release. “Apron’s ‘Dine Around’ event is a great way to help support those workers who find themselves in financial need through no fault of their own — and all it costs is the price of a meal at one of our participating restaurants. It’s really a win-win for everyone involved.”

The seventh annual “Dine Around for Apron” runs from breakfast through dinner on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the participating restaurants listed below.
