Kentucky musician Ben Sollee and his friend Hal Riedling love to bike around town. They also love music, of course, and being outdoors and watching movies. So one day, not too long ago, they decided they should plan an event that would encompass all their passions and invite the community to attend as well.

Sollee and Riedling teamed up with Bicycling for Louisville as well as the Louisville Film Society to help bring their idea to fruition, and the event will feature live music by Otis Junior and The Jesse Lees, as well as by Sollee and Jordan Ellis. After the music, the Tim Burton film “The Nightmare Before Christmas” will be shown on the Louisville Film Society’s giant inflatable outdoor screen.

Hal & Ben’s Bike-In begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday, with the film starting around 7. The event is free and for all ages. Costumes are encouraged, and attendees are asked to walk, bike or take a TARC to the event. Oh, and bring a blanket or chair.
