For its third show of the season, The Bard’s Town Theatre continues its mission of performing plays by today’s brightest playwrights — like Theresa Rebeck, whose hit Broadway comedy “Seminar” has been described as sexy, savvy and side-splitting.

The story follows four aspiring novelists who sign up for a private writing class taught by Leonard, a well-known literary figure. Under his unorthodox instruction, some succeed while others fail miserably.

Seminar Postcard FrontLouisville theater veteran Brian Walker directs the play, which features Brian Hinds, Beth Tantanella, April Singer, Jon Becraft and Ryan Watson among the cast.

The Bard’s Town’s executive artistic director, Doug Schutte, says he’s been a fan of Rebeck’s work for a while, and he believes he has the right people for the production.

“Once I knew we could bring on Brian Walker — who has worked extensively with Theresa (Rebeck) — I knew we had something special in the works,” says Schutte. “Add to that a cast that includes some of the finest actors around, and this has the recipe to be an exciting evening of summer fun at the theater.”

“Seminar” runs from June 11-14 and 18-21 at 7:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $16, $14 for seniors and $12 for students. For more information, call 749-5275 or click here.
